Global warming represents a vast and complex existential global threat and will be a threat for generations to come.

Pointing to a 'primary' measurement of the direct and/or indirect impact(s) of the BBI is difficult as the protocol operates on multiple levels.

However, anything that reduces warming must have indirect impacts - for us all.  Direct impacts will be large and positive for all employed in any CDR program such as biochar.  This of course is no less true for the many millions of coastal residents who will be needed for a potentially vast new BBI industry.

A primary aim of the BBI is to convert key global industrial sectors from unsustainable policies and practices, not end them. The BBI industry(s) can be as large as today’s fossil fuel industry and/or commercial fisheries and/or the global chemical fertilizer industry.

One main impact revolves around charcoal’s ability to absorb numerous elements and compounds.  Expenditures can be reduced for irrigation and fertilization.  Some think its value in preventing N2O release will be equal to its value in removing CO2.

To be continued.
